Né il filosofo cristiano Bach, né il genio radioso Mozart, né l’eccentrico mistico e fantasista Schumann, né l’arci-virtuoso Liszt ebbero una tale influenza sulle menti e sui cuori dei musicisti russi, dei pianisti, delle persone intelligenti e colte come il virtuoso del pianoforte che veniva dalla Polonia. Forse il focoso rivoluzionario Beethoven ebbe un’influenza simile – ma il lirico Fryderyk Chopin fu insuperabile.

Ni el filósofo cristiano Bach, ni el genio brillante de Mozart, ni el místico y fantasioso excéntrico Schumann, ni  el archivirtuoso Liszt no tuvieron tanto impacto en las mentes y los corazones de los músicos rusos, pianistas, gente inteligente y formada que el virtuoso de piano proveniente de Polonia. Tal vez una influencia parecida tenía el ardiente revolucionario Beethoven, sin embargo, inigualable fue el lírico Fryderyk Chopin.

The fiery revolutionist Beethoven might have had a similar kind of influence, but the lyricist Fryderyk Chopin was unequalled.
