Expo 2022 Łódź Polska is a paramount project presenting how Poland is changing and redeveloping, and therefore inspiring many countries around the world
St. Faustyna Kowalska, the author of the book that has had more translations from Polish into foreign languages than any other and a great advocate of God’s mercy, spent a few crucial years of her life in Łódź. It is in this city of textile industry that the young girl stepped on the path of her Christian vocation
Łódź has gone through a very deep and painful transformation. Perhaps that is why is was able to make such a huge leap forward. The city is the right place for the Expo. It has got its past and the soul, but is has also got a concrete economic significance.
The fight itself for Expo 2022 proves that we have aspirations, the course, the strategy, the courage. It is good that state authorities are engaged too, another proof that we are not alone to see the potential of Łódź.
Łódź grew out of hard work of people of several cultures and religions, out of ambitious dreams of those who, like Baron Haussmann in Paris, decided to redesign and rebuild the city from scratch.
Łódź takes in anyone: natives and strangers. It is like a train station. Without asking questions of who you are and why you came or where you want to leave for, it accepts under its roof a burgher and a peasant, a worker and an artist, a Pole, a Jew, and a German.
Prof. Piotr GLIŃSKI
The World Expo 2022 is a unique opportunity for Łódź. A former industrial hub, stands a chance of becoming a world famous centre of science and culture, worthy of the name of “city of the new century”
Have all the available sources been exhausted of building historical image of Łódź? I am sure that not, and when visiting Łódź, I see how many traditions are still left unexploited.
